Monsters, aliens, dragons, and characters from every walk of life have been my inspiration for art since my earliest memories. I enjoy digging into the details of a character, looking into why they dress the way they do, what influences have a visual impact and the details that make them feel alive to the viewer. I also love exploring what makes a creature the way it is, researching the anatomical reasons for an animal to have the structure it has, and what aspects of its environment influence its behavior and appearance.
Art for me is just as much research as it is drawing, and an artist can not have a good and believable design without utilizing both skills. I strive for all of my creations, whether they’re heroes or monsters, to be interesting and believable. If my work makes the viewer want to learn more about the individual and the culture/environment they’re from, than I consider it to have been a success.
