Blue Fyre Press – Booth F3,F4

Books have been Kendra’s escape for as long as she can remember. She used to hide fantasy novels behind her government textbook in high school, and she wrote most of her first novel during a semester of college algebra.

Older and wiser now (but just as nerdy) she writes fantasy and science fiction with characters who have disabilities. If she’s not writing, she’s reading, and if she’s not reading, she’s playing video games.

She lives in Denver with her very tall spouse, their book loving progeny, and a lazy black monster masquerading as a service dog.

Rachel Rener - Booth B7

Rachel Rener – Booth B7

I’m an animal-loving, language-learning, picture-taking, mineral-collecting, videogame-playing, modern rock-listening, celery-hating, acrylic-painting kind of gal. I love contemporary fantasy books and am a sucker for powerful women with magical abilities. When I’m not hunched over my computer writing (while my cockatoo sits on my shoulder begging for head scratches), you can find me hiking, playing DnD on the thrilling new podcast, Of Dice and Friends, or hanging out at Indie Fantasy Addicts, the greatest group on the internet, where I chill with readers and generally stir up trouble.

Seselis

Seselis – Booth N6

Seselis is the author and letterer of Beyond the Wall, a gothic horror comic with heavy magical realist influences. Inspired heavily by Sandman, 100 Years of Solitude, and 1Q84, Beyond the Wall has the reader walking into a bar, where an old man tells them how the world ended. In addition, Seselis is building a comedy/satire world centered on a cat bitten by a radioactive human, who now turns into a human on the full moons and steals from the rich. He also writes songs and paints pictures to supplement his written work.

Tales & Legends

Tales & Legends – Booth L7

I’m a lover of mythology, myths, legends, and tales from the ancient/medieval worlds, and how all of these have transcended time and space into our world today. The myths and legends don’t fade away. They are just repackaged for a new audience. One of my favorites, Star Wars, borrows several concepts from the Legend of King Arthur. The Star Trek series goes even further back into the mythology of ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt as well as others. I believe in magic & Unicorns! I write Arthurian Legend for young readers & teens. These stories exhibit the cornerstones of that Legend: Courage, Honor, Loyalty, & Friendship. My tales from Egypt & my new series Feathers of the Phoenix meld the ancient/medieval worlds with today. My Grandma/Grandpa’s Tales, short illustrated tales, help the youngest readers build their reading skills.
